Sous Chef

Our restaurant is searching for a creative and motivated Sous Chef to join our talented kitchen team. In this position, you will act as the second and/or in command our kitchen, following and enforcing our Executive Chef’s requirements and guidelines. Our ideal candidate is a creative professional who is willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs.

Your duties will include recruiting new employees, responding to customer issues, and developing new menu options. You should have excellent communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.

  • Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.

  • Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.

  • Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.

  • Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.

  • Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.

  • Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.

  • Create schedules for kitchen employees and evaluate their performance.

  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.

  • Manage the kitchen team in the executive chef's absence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science or relevant field.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.

  • Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.

  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Server Position

Servers are some of the most visible staff members. Guests will spend more time interacting with servers than any other front of the house employee. With a positive attitude, servers should engage with guests and attend to their needs (answering questions, making recommendations, taking orders, etc.) to ensure the best experience possible!

Servers should greet guests after they are seated, explain and recommend dishes, take orders for food and beverages and then serve them, and make sure guests' needs are met through each course. When guests are finished eating, servers bring their bills, collect payment, and return change, if necessary. As with any other position that part of the front of the house team, servers must be comfortable with all personality types, from the friendly to the most demanding, and must always be pleasant and personable!

Server Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of menus (food, wines, cocktails)

  • Answer questions and make recommendations

  • Take and serve orders

  • Be aware of “special” requests (medium rare steak, allergies, etc.)

  • Communicate orders clearly (kitchen staff NEEDS to be informed of any allergies)

  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure guest satisfaction (modified drink or food order? Are necessary utensils needed?)

Server Requirements

Line Cook/Cook/Grill/Prep Position(s)

The Ideal Candidate for the Position 

La Fina Prime Steak + Seafood is looking for a professional Line Cook(s) who can help prepare meals as per our standard recipes. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for creating meal portions, cleaning food, cooking meals and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual(s) who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food presentation and garnishing, which is important for impressing our guests and creating repeat business. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Line Cook Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies

  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions

  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food

  • Stock inventory appropriately

  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Line Cook Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day

  • High level of professionalism

  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills

  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook

Bartender Position

We are looking for a professional, high-energy, and experienced Bartender with excellent communication skills serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. this role will be Responsible for greet customers, learning about their preferences, answeingr questions, recommending menu items, and preparing and serving beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Bartender Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.

  • Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.

  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.

  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.

  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.

  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.

  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.

Busser

We are searching for candidates who will enjoy working with others in a fast-paced culinary environment and who have a desire to help create an enjoyable dining experience for guests. Busboys aim to support other team members by cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and bringing guest needs to the attention of waitstaff. They also restock necessary items, such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes. Suitable candidates should be efficient, attentive, and have strong customer service skills.

Busboy Responsibilities:

  • Work with restaurant staff to create a positive dining experience for guests.

  • Greet customers and answer questions.

  • Alert servers when tables are in need of attention.

  • Clean tables and remove dishes after the party leaves.

  • Carry loads of soiled dishes to the dishwasher to be cleaned.

Hostess

We are a busy restaurant and have an open role for Hostess. You will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area. You will also engage with guests to ensure their meal is as good as it should be. To do well in this role you should be comfortable standing for long periods and managing a very busy shift.

Hostess Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.

  • Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.

  • Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.

  • Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.

  • Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.

  • Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.

  • Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.

  • A knowledge of the menu.

  • Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.

  • Providing great customer service.

Hostess Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
